To celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week 2013, we are bringing together a panel of formidable Dragons from the very first series to the latest. This special event will give you the chance to learn from our no-nonsense experts about what makes a winning pitch and how to scale up your business.

Find out how they’ve all risen from start-ups to stars in the business world and how you can apply their tried and tested techniques to your own business.

The panel discussion will be streamed live from the British Library in London, after you’ve heard from local entrepreneur James Boardwell from Folksy in Sheffield. Plus, you can put your questions to all speakers and network with other local businesses.

Local entrepreneur

James Boardwell, Folksy

James runs Folksy, the UK’s largest handmade marketplace and also Rattle, a design and technology studio. Prior to this he worked at the BBC researching and designing future services. He specialises in Design Research and lectures in this occasionally at Sheffield Hallam University. Often to be found running in the peak district he lives with his wife Emma, and his three boys, four bikes, two cats and Lenny the dog.

Terry has many years of experience as a professional artist both nationally and internationally plus many years of teaching art.

Gaming Invasion are an innovative new company based in Sheffield who run Xbox and PC gaming events.

They’re running a small scale Fifa 13 event tonight at the Graduate Pub on Surrey Street in Sheffield. In the same way as a traditional football tournament is structured, there’ll be quarter finals, semi finals and a final with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

This event is not just for students and hardcore gamers, it’s for anyone interested in finding out more about this type of event or who is interested in giving it a go! Shaun from Gaming Invasion will be available throughout the night to answer any questions and to commentate on the event.

On 19th May 2013, the 2013 Chatsworth 10K, 3K Fun Run and Teddy Bear Toddle will mark a major fundraising opportunity for Helen’s Trust, attracting up to 1400 runners on the day and raising vital funds to maintain our valuable services helping incurably ill people stay in their own home.

Alongside the individual runners, we are asking your company to take part in the 10K Corporate Team Challenge and put in a team of 4 – 8 runners from your firm who are willing to train, run and raise money for the Trust. In return we will help you promote your organisation’s community involvement through tailored PR and promotion on our website, provide you with complimentary race numbers and training accessories plus much more on the day too.

There is a fantastic team activity prize (which will be disclosed at the launch event) for the team who raise the most amount of money in sponsorship and we are actively encouraging competition between sites and firms across the counties!
